What is the Oak Island Beach Preservation Society?
The Beach Preservation Society is a group dedicated and determined to help preserve the beaches on Oak Island. We promote the restoration, maintenance and enjoyment of our public beaches by doing the following -
* Coordinating nearly 200 volunteers who assist with dune planting and maintenance
* Educating the public about protecting our beaches and dunes
* Sponsoring 65 beach accesses through Adopt-A-Beach Program
* Distributing Beach Bum Bonnie Coloring Books for children’s education
* Distributing three newsletters per year to members and legislators
* Maintaining liaison with Brunswick Beaches Consortium, the NC Shore and Beach Association and other active beach preservation groups
* Contributed $30,000 to help replenish Oak Island’s beaches!
You too can volunteer your time, become a member,
or give a contribution to the Oak Island Beach Preservation Society.
